As your go-to platform for discovering the city’s most intriguing cultural gems, we are guided by local tastemakers who provide fresh perspectives and unfiltered voices. Our mission is to explore art and culture as catalysts for challenging the mainstream, addressing political subjects, social justice, and promoting critical thinking.

Champion Critical Thinking: Explore political subjects, social justice issues, and cultural critiques through your contributions.

HOW TO PITCH A STORY:

Email us at hello@lafomo.co.uk. But before that ensure that you:

Familiarise yourself with La Fomo

Explore our website, read our published articles, and follow our social media to understand our editorial line and tone of voice. Make sure that your story is relevant to us and that it is not something we have already covered.

Craft a concise pitch. Keep it to 2-4 paragraphs, covering:

- Your angle and why it matters now

- If the piece requires interviews, who would you interview and how would you gain access to them?

- Your proposed delivery timeline

- What makes you the right person to write this piece

Format your pitch

Use the subject line format: PITCH: [Insert Concise Suggested Headline] and hyperlink any relevant statistics, news stories or sources mentioned. If you have a relevant portfolio or writing sample, include a link to that.

Do not send already completed stories

We do not have the resources to read through already completed stories that get sent to us as pitches, and if we choose to commission you based on your pitch, we will probably want to discuss and support you in how you can build your story to work as well as possible on La Fomo.

If your topic has already been covered by other media outlets, acknowledge that, and let us know how your piece would take a fresh angle that makes it unique to La Fomo.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Photo Documentaries: Capture and document events, subcultures, and communities that embody our values. We’re interested in unique perspectives that highlight what others might miss.

Hot Takes: Submit bold, diverse opinions on pressing issues affecting London’s communities and culture scenes. We value unique points of view and thoughtful analysis, whether the topic is small or big, heavy or light-hearted.

Interviews: Share insights from personalities and talents contributing to London’s thriving culture. We particularly welcome voices that challenge mainstream norms and offer something different.

Shows, exhibitions, events etc.: Rather than single-event reviews, we prefer articles that highlight a variety of shows, films, and art galleries relevant to our editorial focus. We encourage creative angles, unconventional ideas and fresh ways of doing this.
